dc.description.abstractA computer database of the pines of southeastern North America was developed using hyper-text markup language. This interactive program allows users to learn about bark, buds, leaves, reproductive structures, geographic range, climate, and natural history of pines. Audio files pronounce the scientific and vernacular names of trees. A search engine allows comparison of textual and graphic information of different characteristics.en_US
